Khella started as a two-man framing crew in Levittown in 2006. It grew the slow way, one referral at a time, up and down the Island.
We still carry our own carpenters. The people who set your framing are the people who hang your trim, and they answer to the same superintendent. That single fact removes most of the finger-pointing that makes renovations miserable.
We are licensed in both Nassau and Suffolk, insured for general liability and workers' compensation, and we hold a current certificate for every sub who steps onto your property. Ask for them; we will send them before we send an invoice.
Most of our work comes from people whose neighbour's job we finished. That is the whole business model, and it is why we will turn a job down before we take one we cannot staff properly.
Line items, not lump sums
Every estimate breaks out labour, materials and allowances, so you can see what a decision costs before you make it.
One superintendent, one number
You get a named superintendent and their cell phone. Not a call centre, and not a project manager who rotates off mid-job.
Clean site every Friday
Dumpster managed, floors swept, walkways clear. You are living there during the job — it should feel like it.
Punch closes before final payment
We do not chase you for the last cheque while you chase us for the last door. The list closes first.
